La Posada dates back to 1905 when Asturian
Jose Diaz arrived in the Colchagua valley and bought land
for agricultural use.
La Posada (The Inn) was given the name as it served as
a resting place for travelers coming from the coast.
In 1960, Eduardo Diaz decided to turn the land over to
bulk wine production, and in 1985 branched out into the
elaboration of fine wines.
75 hectares (123 acres) in the
heart of Santa Cruz, including Cabernet
Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardon-nay.
Annual production is 1 million liters. Storage capacity
of 1 million liters in stain-less steel tanks, cement
vats and wooden barrels.
Exports its wines to: Brazil, Ecuador, Denmark, Germany
and the US
Top wines: Cabernet Sauvignon; Special
Reserve. |
